Last Sunday it was very cloudy. My friends and I visited the zoo. As we approached the main, gate, we saw a huge crowd. Some people were buying entrance tickets, some were chatting while others were relaxing under the shady trees. We entered the zoological garden and came across a beautiful lake in which some aquatic birds like ducks and swans were swimming.

Caribou are the North American reindeer. Reindeer are large mammals that live in Arctic and subarctic regions all around the world. It is well adapted to its environment. Its short, stocky body conserves heat, its long legs help it move through snow, and its long dense winter coat provides effective insulation, even during periods of low temperature and high wind. The muzzle and tail are short and well haired.
Cassowary

Size: 1.5 to 1.8 meters (59–71 in) tall
Weight: 58.5 kilograms (129 lb)
The cassowary is a large flightless bird. There are three kinds of cassowary, two found in New Guinea and one, the southern cassowary, found in northern Queensland. Their habitat is tropical rainforests. The southern cassowary is the world’s third-largest species of bird, after the two ostrich species. The skin on the cassowary’s head and neck are blue. There also is a little red skin on the neck. The legs are thick and greyish, with three toes. The inner toe has a 12-centimeter claw-like spike, which is used in defense.

The cheetah is the world’s fastest land animal. It can reach speeds of up to 75 mph (121km/h) in pursuit of its fast-moving antelope prey. Wild cheetahs are found in eastern and southwestern Africa. Once the cheetah closes in, it knocks the prey to the ground with its paw and suffocates the animal with a bite to the neck. Once a cheetah has made a kill, it eats quickly and keeps an eye out for scavengers—lions, leopards, hyenas, vultures and jackals will steal from this timid predator.

Chimpanzees are found in rainforests and savannas in West and Central Africa. Noisy and curious, intelligent and social, the chimpanzee is the mammal most like a human. It has a thickset body with long arms, short legs and no tail. Much of the body is covered with long black hair, but the face, ears, fingers and toes are bare. They hoot, scream, grunt and drum on hollow trees with the flat of their hands.

Weight: Male birds weigh between 670 and 920 grams (1.5–2 lb), while females weigh slightly less at 615–870 grams (1.25–1.75 lb).
Group: Flock
A Cockatoo will make comical displays with outspread wings, head bobbing, dancing, and loud calls. A happy cockatoo spends most of its waking time performing, or examining and manipulating its toys and other cage objects. They are very intelligent and inquisitive birds, and they love to show off! They have strong, curved beaks for cracking open seeds and nuts. Their habitat extends from the Philippines to Tasmania and Australia.
