It blends Hindu,Islamic, Gothic and Rajput styles. It comprised of the traditional flavor. There are Royal buildings, modern amusement parks, museums and gardens. There is a range of rice-based dishes includes chitranna , and pulliyoigrae are the traditional food of Mysore.

Mysore Airport known as Mandakalli airport is a domestic airport. International airport is the Bangalore International Airport providing flight services in cities. The Mysore Railway Station links the city with all major cities in India.
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND OF MYSORE-
Mysore was the capital of the Kingdom of Mysore until 1950, when Haidar Ali and Tipu Sultan were the defacto rulers. Mysore state continued to be ruled by Maharaja Jaya Chamaraja Wadiyar. Mysore city is known as the ‘City of Palaces’ and the ‘Ivory City’. The Cholas who ruled the region for a Century. Bettada Chamaraja Wodeyar was the raja of Mysore rebuilt the fort of Mysore. He has developed Mysore into a beautiful city with excellent planning. It was ruled by Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan. Mysore was the prominent city during the reign of Tipu Sultan.
