PUNE VISIT OXFORD OF THE EAST

PUNE OVERVIEW-

Pune is a  place where Chatrapati Shivaji was raised. Maharajas had built  palaces. Pune is known as the cultural capital of the state. It is one of the fastest growing cities of India.  Pune is a heritage city with lots of  places around the city.  Places like Lohagad and Vetal Hill are around Pune.

HOW TO VISIT PUNE-

Pune has connected with air and road networks. The Pune Railway Station is the railway stations in the Deccan railways. It connects with the Deccan Odyssey, which is a luxury train in India.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND OF PUNE-

Copper plates of 758 AD and of 768 AD reveal that the Rashtrakutas ruled this region. Pune was ruled by the Yadava dynasty after the Rashtrakutas. Mughal rulers then ruled the city. Pune became popular with the rise of Maratha ruler Shivaji. He spent his early childhood in Pune at Lal Mahal. Aurangazeb’s uncle, Shahistekhan was defeated at Lal Mahal by Shivaji. Nanasaheb Peshwa had ruled the Maratha kingdom. Nanasaheb Peshwa emphasized in urbanizing the Pune city. British defeated the Marathas and established the administration in this region. Pune has the Deccan College in Pune.  The first Textile Mill was built by Raja Bahadur Motilal Pittie.

TIPS-

  1. Reach Pune in the morning and starts day with the heritage building was built in the Peshwa Bajirao.
  2. Visit Aga Khan Palace and the Darshan Museum.
  3. Visit malls,cafes and bakeries.
