How many days are enough in Andaman?

My trip to Andaman has been one of the best trips of my life!

How many days are enough in Andaman?

The best trip to visit anytime between November to May, you never enjoy activities if you visit after May due to the weather conditions. You can save some money if you book your flight a month before your plan date.

I visited during May. I covered a lot of places in 5 days, I’m giving you all the details hoping that it can save your time on planning.

Day 1

Take an early morning flight to Port Blair, you can witness a beautiful Sunrise. Visit Ross Island and North Bay Island(boat to both Islands – total 3 hours duration). You have a little walk up to the historic ruins of the church, printing press, and a beautiful beach in the Ross Island. There are a lot of deers on the Island.

Scuba dive is best in the North Bay Island. There is a wide variety of coral reefs and fishes you can see(depth 15ft), it costs 3,000/- for 20-30 minutes. Don’t go for Glass bottom rides and others as it is not worth it. Marina water sports complex is a park where you can Jet Ski and small activities. In the evening visit Cellular jail and also watch the light and music show.

Stay for the night at Port Blair.

Day 2

Take a cruise to Havelock Island from Port Blair in the morning(2.5-hour duration), Open cruise will have fun games and dance. Further, you can enjoy Kala Pathar Beach, a walk on the white sand and blue water will be very pleasant. Next, visit the Elephant Beach, it takes 30 minutes to reach the beach by ferry(could be closed based on weather conditions), water sports like Snorkeling, Jet Ski, Banana boat are a few to name.

You can spend your evening in Radhanagar Beach(Open till 5.30 pm). Trust me it is the most beautiful(it’s one of the world’s top 10 beaches) wide view beach with literally blue water(all the locations by road are a maximum of 15–20 minutes drive) Stay for the night at Havelock Island.

Day 3

Take a Cruise to Neil Island from Havelock Island(2 hours duration). Visit Bharatpur Beach, activities include all water sports. I did Scuba dive here as well, Its clear blue water and I spotted 3 turtles, 2 octopus, 2 really big fishes and swarms of fishes of 500 in number(Depth of 40 feet). It costs 5,000/- for 1 hour per head.

You can try the glass-bottom ride as well. You can enjoy a good sunset view at Laxmanpur Beach, enjoy with Maggie, Onion Pakoda, and Chai. Stay for the night at Neil Island.

Day 4

Visit Sitapur Beach for the sunrise and head towards the Howrah Natural bridge in Neil Island.

Lots of crabs and starfish are to be expected. Enjoy the rest of the day on the seashore.

Board back a ferry to Port Blair. You can explore Corbyn Cove Beach or you could shop at Sagarika Emporium which is famous for pure pearls and a variety of shell accessories. Stay for the night at Port Blair.

Day 5

We move to Baratang Island where is very strict timings followed. You should reach the Island before 3 am. This tour will start at around 3 am and goes for 10 hours. You can enjoy here amidst the mangroves seeing Limestone Caves and Mud Volcano. You will come across Tribal inhabitants, birds, and Caves. It will cost you approximately 3,500/- per head.

Head back to Port Blair and Board back a Flight at night.

Scuba is a must-do activity. It can be done in any of the below locations.

  • North Bay Island is best suited for a variety of coral reefs and fishes, water is less clear.
  • Havelock is good for finding Nemo, less coral reefs but can find a variety of other fishes.
  • Neil Island is best for finding Turtles, Octopus, swarms of fishes, and the clearest view among the three.

It will cost around 20,000/- to 30,000/- for this itinerary. According to your convenience, you can extend or shorten your trip.

Have a great trip 🙂
